At Sicom we provide full turnkey project services including 3D modeling, prototyping, project management, component assemblies, sub trade and materials management including Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE), Radiography, Magnetic Particle, Liquid penetrant, Hardness testing, Leak test, Hydrostatic testing. We also use Smart Sheet Program to provide real time project status.
AUTO-CAD and SOLIDWORKS are primarily used for prototype models. We can take any form of input from sketch data to existing CAD drawings and create the geometric specs required for your prototype.
CAM is the process used to program the machine tool path. We use a variety of CAM software to accomplish this including MasterCam and Gibbs. Precision and efficiency are our priorities and using multi-axis rendering provides significant accuracy and detail.
Our large format Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) including one with Scanning head are capable of measuring up to 2 meters, are laser calibrated every year to ensure absolute precision accuracy to 0.0002“. The CMMs provide automated inspections of complex machined components and generate a computerized file, thus significantly reducing the impact of human error providing a false inspection reading. Production equipment is equipped with Renishaw probes to inspect parts while loaded in the machine.
For replacement parts, our CMM will encircle your component, automatically probing and recording exact dimensions. The result will be a 3D digital CAD model used to program and machine an exact replica part.
We machine parts from several materials including specialty forged stainless steels, N50, Titanium, and Inconel. With the use of late model 3, 4, 5 axis machining centers, Sicom can produce the most accurate parts possible. Running multiple machines at once allows for the highest possible throughput, reduced labour costs and the quickest turnarounds.
